HIBISCUS KISS
Hibiscus Kiss is the signature print of our Sundrift Summer 2026 collection — an homage to Hawai‘i, its state flower, and the slow, sunlit drift of island days.
Created in collaboration with Brooklyn Hawai'i, the photographer behind all Strait The Label campaigns and content since our launch, this print marks her first time translating her creative vision into illustration. For Sundrift Summer 2026, she has hand-drawn our signature Hibiscus Kiss print — extending the visual language she has shaped for the brand from photography into textile.
Brooklyn is a local Hawai‘i girl from O‘ahu — born and raised in the ocean — whose life has always been shaped by water, light, and movement. Since our launch, she has been behind the scenes of all our campaigns, photographing and directing the visual world of Strait The Label both in and out of the ocean. Her work has defined the feeling of the brand — salt water, sun-washed skin, intimacy, and motion — turning fleeting moments into something timeless.
At the center of Hibiscus Kiss is the hibiscus — the state flower of Hawai‘i and a long-standing symbol of femininity, vitality, and presence. Bold yet delicate, each bloom is hand-drawn with an intentionally organic, imperfect flow. The illustrations are meant to feel alive, like hibiscus petals unfolding under warm island sun. Softness and strength exist together here — a quiet confidence that reflects the spirit of the island woman and the world of Strait The Label.
Brooklyn brings a perspective that can only come from growing up in Hawai‘i — where the ocean is not a backdrop, but a way of life. Her eye is shaped by shifting light, moving water, and the stillness in between. With Hibiscus Kiss, her artistry expands beyond photography into illustration and print design, translating the same emotional depth she captures through her lens into something wearable.
Created as part of our summer collection, Hibiscus Kiss holds the feeling of sun-warmed skin, salt air, and the intimacy of long island days. The print drifts across fabric like a memory — soft, fluid, and intentional. It honors both the land and the artist behind it, transforming a feeling of Hawai‘i into something you can wear.
This collaboration celebrates local artists and creatives, intentional design, and storytelling through nature. Hibiscus Kiss is more than a print — it is a love letter to Hawai‘i, written in bloom.
